ANALOG...DIGITAL....THE REAL DEAL...SSL 4000

Many many people have asked me time after time "How do you get the damn Asr 10 to sound the way it sounds". It is a simple explanation. The Mpc 2000xl is a digital machine whereas the Asr 10 was made Analog. Now many young cats do not know what analog sounds like bc they are digi-babies. The difference between analog and digital to most people who have been around both it is easy to tell them apart. Analog gives music a warmer feel to it and good bottom and it didnt take much outboard gear in a recording studio to give it that feel. Digital gives music exactly that a crisp clear digital feel and music sounds sort of light in the ass. It requires alot more gear and plug ins ot achieve the analog feel on music. In this day and time there has been alot of plug ins that have come out to emulate analog. Some have failed while others have come within 99% accuracy. I have been around the king of recording consoles the SSL 4000 G series and the J 9000 as well was the Neve Flying faders boards. These boards were easy to find in any NYC recording studio in the 90s. With the day of computers having taken completely over techs scrambled to find and achieve that analog sound that to me in my opinion outweighs digital. I stand behind the WAVES SSL 4000 PLUG INS...100%. Of all the plug ins I have tried I will say these mufukas are the truth. I have mixed every single record I have ever done in a studio on a SSL board and when I used these plug ins I was blown away by the accuracy of them...So I have answered your question as to how I get my music sounding the way it does.
